So I used this tutorial, but sized down the dimensions a bit. Size seems to be key with Higdon's book; her playful brevity sweeps across the page. She is particularly inventive with repetition and her poems develop a music that is both earnest and something else. She writes:
we advance to the edge and the edge is as edge is, also flimsy
bending
day bending day
that we bend to
and it is also flimsy
I spent most of the day yesterday making the book stand and then while I was reading the book outside (in the sun!) a man from the New York Post took my photo. Berl's will be selling Hailey Higdon's book this Saturday and Sunday, March 19th and 20th, at the Brooklyn Flea. Come out and support a great press and one of their fine poets!
are you gonna be in the post? !
