Berl's Brooklyn Poetry Shop will be making a one-night special pop-up appearance tonight at
Local X Local, an event at Brooklyn Bowl co-hosted by Brooklyn Brewery (which is right around the corner) and featuring live bands such as
Javelin. The event will start at 6pm with the music beginning at 8pm; there will be dinner, drinks, bowling obviously, and maybe a photo booth. The last time we saw Javelin play, it was in the downstairs lobby at the
Whitney Museum, very head-bopping and fun. We haven't been out with Berl's in Williamsburg since last summer so this will be a sweet return to the neighborhood. In keeping with the local Brooklyn community theme, we are bringing almost exclusively poets and presses from Brooklyn (or at least local to NYC). We'll have lots of great stuff out and we hope you'll stop by!
Starting this weekend, we'll be out all month and beyond every
Saturday at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene - Lafayette Ave at Vanderbilt Ave. Lots of new books from our visits to AWP Chicago, SPD in California, and the NY Chapbook Festival, so we hope you can come see! We're now working with some great new presses like Strange Machine and Good Morning Menagerie from Boise Idaho, Sand Paper Press from Key West FL, and SpringGun Press in Denver CO. We will have their work out for sure this weekend and looking forward. And lots more besides!
